The Daytona Beach Police Department, along with other nonprofits and organizations, put together a food drive and handed out dry clothing for kids to help those affected by the devastating storm.
A Florida police department is working with other organizations to help victims of Hurricane Ian.
Working with nonprofits and other groups, the Daytona Beach Police Department helped organize a food drive in less than 24 hours, WESH-TV reports. With school starting Wednesday, the drive also handed out cleaning supplies, water and clothing, so kids would have dry items when returning to classes.
"Obviously we're not going to solve everybody's problems in one day, but this is one of many," Chief Jakari Young said.
